Admissions Representative

Description

• As an Admissions Clerk you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient admission of patients into our facility. You will be the first point of contact for patients and their families, providing exceptional customer service while accurately gathering and processing necessary information for admission.Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.

• Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information.

• Obtain necessary signatures and consent forms from patients or guardians.

• Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely admission of patients.

• Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding admissions processes.

• Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations as needed.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

• Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry and filing.

• Collaborate with other departments to address patient needs and concerns.

• Provide support and assistance to other clerical staff as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.

• Previous experience in healthcare administration or medical office setting preferred.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance procedures.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.

• Customer service-oriented with a positive attitude.

• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful situations.

• Willingness to adhere to all policies and procedures related to patient care and confidentiality.
