Have you ever thought of the brain and body connections that occur when you exercise on a regular basis? The brain and the body have a symbiotic relationship that works to keep you mentally and physically healthy. When you are able maximize your mental and physical fitness potential, you are developing your natural talents which can help you advance your career potential.

Employers today are looking for the complete package employee or manager. They want to hire people who are physically and mentally healthy. People who have both of these assets going for them, translates into more productive team members who can produce better results for their employers.

Mentally fit employees and managers are more productive because they get along better with other team members. Physically healthy employees and managers take less time off of work because they don’t get sick as often and are able to work more rigorous schedules because their endurance is better.

When you exercise on a regular basis it causes the body to produce natural chemicals that bolsters your immune system. You stay healthier because your immune system is able to fight off unhealthy viruses that are present.

Staying healthy has a direct impact on your mental attitude. You physically feel better and as a result, it reminds you how good you feel. You feel better because you are healthy and you are healthier because you feel better. This is a type of a positive “Catch 22” that allows you to lead a more productive life.

Another ingredient you can add to your daily physical exercise is mental exercise. What I mean is, listening to positive mp3, cds, podcasts of motivational or informational speakers while you are working out. You can also read positive books while working on your exercise bike or treadmill.

Today, you can use a Kindle or Ipad to read the books of your choice for a fraction of the cost of buying a hard copy. Whether you read positive material while you are just sitting and relaxing or while exercising, you are building your ability to develop your number one career advancement system; your body and your mind.

So, get off of your “buts” and put together a plan to be the kind of person that possesses the complete package of mental and physical health. By having a plan to keep yourself mentally and physically healthy and then working that plan, it will allow you to be the ideal type of team member, and help you attract your next dream job.
