Product support engineer with at least four years of experience in opto-mechanical assemblies with the ability to train on the technology. These tasks may include developing instructional materials and/or web-based publications, as well as supporting training courses and demonstrations. Additional taskings will include management of program laboratories and to assist the depot manager with property management.
Builds, aligns and qualifies precision opto-mechanical assemblies and systems
Disassemble and re-assembles, aligns and qualifies subassemblies and systems down to piece-part level
Inspects optical components for damage
Cleans UV optical components, such as mirrors, beam splitters, polarizers, wave plates, and lenses
De-bonds and re-mounts optical components in lens cells
Maintains equipment and ensures calibration needs are met
Maintain proficiency at performing process runs, be capable of teaching process to others
Develops course or assists lead trainer with course development
Organize and optimize test setups, tooling, and choreography to support process
Conduct and document testing related to process runs
Manage PPE and Tooling certifications and calibrations
Manages assests on program and utilizes enterprise asset management tools
Works with engineering to evaluate and implement process improvements.
Ensures proper operation of equipment by performing scheduled preventative maintenance.
Actively participates in building a collaborative and productive team environment
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Previous experience operating precision hand tools such as micrometers and calipers
Preferred Additional Skills:
Understanding of basic shop math such as ratios, graphs, algebra, and basic geometry.
Experience with Microsoft Office and computer proficient
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in optical fabrication.
