The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the Logistics Service Center consistently adds value to each job site, by developing and implementing best practices for streamlined delivery and tracking of materials and rental equipment with world-class quality, in the most time efficient, cost effective manner. The position is located in Manassas, Va for a long-standing MC Dean customer. The position provides equipment, performs data entry, and audits all inventory bi-annual.
Warehouse person must successfully complete all safety training courses as provided by the Company.
Pass a background investigation and drug test.
The selected individual will have to pass a background check with no felony convictions. All contractual personnel. Periodic background verifications must be completed.
have the ability to obtain certification (MC Dean training) and can operate a forklift and pallet jack.
Has Intermediate computer skills.
Must be a well-organized person in order to maintain warehouse and material in a clean and organized manner.
Communication and basic management skills a must
This position will require intermittent use of a company owned fleet vehicle.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Engage project personnel early in project lifecycle to gain a better understanding of needs within context of work, to serve in an advisory capacity and, with proper understanding of requirements, provide alternative offerings.
Receive, count and verify delivered material matches the amount and type ordered.
Separate the materials by the job they were ordered for, tag or label the material and put it in the staging area for pick-up or delivery to the job site.
Deliver material to job site as needed.
Receive and stock excess materials returned from the job site that was not used and won't be returned to the vendor.
Find and issue excess stocked material to be utilized on projects.
Package and ship materials and equipment that is returned to the vendor or sent to remote job sites.
Keep the warehouse clean and orderly.
Performs the procurement functions for multiple projects, with the Miscellaneous Material budget not to exceed $500,000.00 for any one project.
Performs a variety of routine and/or low to high dollar value buying/purchasing tasks involving materials, suppliers or services
Reviews purchase requisitions, and places orders with approved suppliers and follow up on all orders to ensure timely delivery.
May evaluate bids, select and/or recommend suppliers and negotiate price, delivery, quality and service
Follows up on all awards until completion of order
May assist in negotiations for major purchases by developing or compiling statistical information and gathering other data as required
Coordinates with the accounting department as required resolving questions on suppliers' invoices
Must be proficient at processing requisitions from the Procurement Online (POL) System, including, but not limited to, forwarding requisitions to the appropriate vendor; correcting requisition data as required to fulfill POL reporting functions; and entering routine data in the POL and AS400 as required
May require frequent job-site visits to determine project needs and to gather, develop and report project purchase Statistics.
Work with vendors using competition to improve best value by managing vendor partnerships, paperwork and prices.
Managing all staff and operations for onsite Procurement/Logistics functions as needed for program.
Examining cost efficiency, turnaround time, and profitability revenue for material management within each service center based on existing processes and procedures and thereby determining best practices and revised methods to increase each of these items.
Determining the best mode of transportation to move materials in the most time efficient and cost effective method. (to and from the jobsite and also within the job site)
Establishing best practices for storage
Reduce cost and improve productivity
Review and revise the project site Logistics plan
Profit Margin & Labor Impact Research & Implementation as it relates to material and logistics management
Ensure safety policies and procedures are implemented and utilized at according to corporate standards
Develop, implement, and maintain Customer Furnished Equipment (GFE) program
Develop and implement strategies to reduce loss and maintain Customer compliance.
The incumbent has a high school degree or GED.
Either possess or obtain a forklift operating certification upon employment with M.C. Dean, Inc.
Proficient use of Word, Excel and Power Point software.
Must successfully pass a background check.
One (1) year of purchasing experience, preferably in an electrical construction environment.
MUST be willing to relocate based on location of construction project.
CTL, CPPM, CPPS, CPPA, or CPSM Certifications preferred
Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
