APTIM is a full-service multidiscipline environmental and engineering consulting firm seeking a mid-level EHS Software Implementation Consultant. This position will assist large clients implementing third-party EHS software to manage EHS compliance processes. This work focuses on enterprise-level, multi-media software solutions. The position will involve a variety of activities including needs assessment, business process planning, solution design, system configuration and testing, data migration, training, support, and project management. Projects will range in size from <$100k to="">$500K in value.
While this position will focus on EHS software implementations, it may also support traditional environmental compliance consulting projects such as air quality, wastewater, hazardous waste, and so on. In particular, candidates specifically interested in a hybrid position that splits time between software implementation and air quality consulting (permitting, modeling, and/or compliance) are encouraged to apply. Preferred locations for this position include Denver, CO; Pittsburgh, PA; Kansas City; Irvine, CA; or Dallas, TX. APTIM will consider other U.S.-based office or telecommuting options for the ideal candidate.
This position will serve in a lead technical role on EHS software implementation projects, routinely leading interactions with clients and partners, and overseeing technical work of junior staff. Depending on the nature of a particular project, this may include any or all of the following:
Work with client personnel to assess business needs and complete business process planning around the EHS software solution. Effectively plan, lead, and document workshops with client personnel that successfully guide the customer through the discovery and planning process.
Serve in a lead role for solution design activities within the EHS software system. Effectively analyze the customer's business needs to determine and document a solution approach. Proactively assess benefits and pitfalls of competing design options.
Plan, perform and/or oversee system configuration, report development, and/or data migration activities.
Advocate and ensure quality delivery through planning, executing, and/or overseeing appropriate system testing, quality checks, and client acceptance testing.
Assess client training needs, develop training materials, and/or deliver client training.
Provide ongoing client support and troubleshooting following solution deployment.
Support project management activities and mentor junior staff.
Project work will initially be focused on use of EHS software systems for environmental compliance. For all of the above, the position requires the ability to effectively and diplomatically listen and ask questions, proactively understand needs, recognize risks and opportunities for improvement, and identify solutions. The position will have the responsibility to develop positive working relationships with clients and partners. This position will be required to balance workload among multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
The successful candidate will be self motivated and detail oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Applicants should have a demonstrated ability to critically analyze EHS business processes, work with large data sets, and provide innovative solutions for clients.
Specific requirements include:
BS in civil/environmental/chemical engineering, environmental science, computer science, or similar degree from accredited program.
5-15 years' experience with EHS compliance; completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience. Experience with environmental compliance is preferred.
Minimum 3 years' experience implementing or configuring solutions on one or more of the leading third-party EHS compliance software/EMIS platforms/vendors, such as Enviance, Sphera, Intelex, or Enablon.
Preferred candidate will have familiarity with relational database concepts, database query language (e.g., SQL), Visual Basic or other programming languages/concepts, reporting tools, and/or software delivery lifecycle concepts.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
